Hello,
Well its been a little over a year. Life has been busy. I'm in my last semester of nursing school. Actually, I should be studying now but I decided to take a break from this boring, leadership and management material. In the last post I wrote I thought I would have time to continue a blog but with all the things on my plate, its not realistic...school, work, church, studying, gym, and trying to have a small social life.
Anywho, I'm really excited about the way God has truly blessed me and the opportunities that lie ahead. I'm starting to look for jobs and the goal is to find a gig in DC, Houston or ATL. DC is my first choice. Pray for me. Just wanted to share a bit. Prayerfully in 6 months I'll be blo;gging about my adventures in a great new city. Alright my loves, peace and blessings.
Ciao

A Work in Progress
In this post I will allow you to get a glimpse into my life. Hmmm, where should I start? Ok, lets rewind back about 2 years. In August of 2008 I moved back to Cleveland after leaving in Dayton for 5 years. I attended school there. Initially I was going to stay in Dayton and get an apartment after my campus housing lease was up. I could not find a job so I decided to return home. As soon as I got back home I started going to The Word Church. I grew up in church, went to church off and on in college but this time something was different. This pastor challenged me in a way no other leader had. He spoke of practical life topics from a Biblical perspective. His knowledge of the word was uncanny but he was in the process of getting his doctorate in theology (that explained it for me). I could tell that this was a true man of God who ran his church like an open book. He has a giving heart. With the help of the church members and his leadership the Word Church has done community outreach on a level not even big organizations have done. Sneakers, cars, bikes, school supplies, food and even a home has been given out. Wow, how awesome.
My life has definitely changed for the better. I realize though that there is always room for improvement and I am no where near perfect. Many people around me feel as if there will be some things I will have to sacrifice that go against my Christian values when it comes to dating. Ok, I said all this just to pose some questions. Here goes....
Are the chances slim to finding a mate who shares the same spiritual views and actually practices those views? Would you date someone that has a different faith? How important is spirituality to you when it comes to finding someone? Would you be open to converting to a different religion?
I know my views but I would love to hear yours regardless of what your beliefs are. Peace and blessings.

I'm Back
So I have been on a 6 month hiatus. I have been pre-occupied with life. A lot has happened in this time. I have been to Atlanta twice, Dayton twice and I went to Chicago for a family reunion. I'm now in my second week of nursing school. Initially, I was thinking that I would have no time to blog with school and all. However, this will serve as an outlet for me. Instead of taking an 'article approach' to my blog, I will just go with the flow. So stay tuned. I want to put my thoughts out for the world to see. I need more followers if I'm going to touch the world, so tell your friends, family, co-workers, whoever to follow my blog. Peace and blessings.

Serial Dater
You have met him/her before. Although you mostly see this trait in women. She is so thirsty to get a man she will accept many things she said she would not just to have someone to call ‘boyfriend’ or to have a warm body next to her at night. She may sacrifice her values, morals, and even her relationship with GOD. Ms. Desperado jumps from one relationship to another in search of that special someone. The one thing that she does not realize is that she needs to learn who she is inside in order to be whole. Ms. Desperado does not know her worth. This ‘bad habit’ affects different types of women of many races, cultures and socio-economic backgrounds.
These women bend over backwards trying to please men. They go all out very early on in dating just to show him she is ‘the wife type’. They will cook, clean, even let him drive the car. She gives out so much and gets far less in return.
Do you know someone like this? Should you try and help her or just mind your own business? Men, have you come across a woman who you could tell would do almost anything to be with you?

“THE FAKE PHENOMENON”

So many women are now wearing fake hair, nails, lashes and the dreaded colored contacts. I’m not against any one of these (except colored contacts) but just like accessorizing you mustn’t over do it. It makes me question how you feel about your true self. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not against women who wear a weave but what do you say for women who won’t leave home without their lace front, half wig, sew-in or ponytail on there head? Women, do you feel less beautiful without these things?
Men, do you form opinions about a woman when you see her adorned in several beauty additives if you will? I believe that this look has been fueled by the women we see in the media from Beyonce to up and coming female rapper Nicki Minaj. Wait lets not forget the lowly video vixen. We were created to be unique and with this new phenomenon everyone is started to look the same. What’s wrong with being different? Why would you want to see a girl on the street and say “Hey, you must have caught that sale on Spanish wavy that they had down at Longwood’s,” (I seriously witnessed this). Nothing is wrong with wanting to switch it up but for some it’s a little deeper than that. Let me know what your take is on this.
Picture: She looks pretty but what do we make of the 'Barbie' image? Is this ok for celebrities since its technically part of the job?
